Black Pearl

Black Pearl as an essence has the same action as Light pearl, however it has a stronger focus on bringing the shifts in perception into action. Also the essence is more direct in focusing emotional states that are experienced more dynamically such as anger. This is an outcome of the difference in colour, between the white and the black pearl. We more easily view white as a source of Light and Grace, and therefore easily accept this as a pathway, however when we experience visual input which is darker as Light and Grace it can effect us more deeply or actively. This is an aspect of humanity not the pearl or the oyster.

This essences was made with a Black Pearl that had been a gift of Gratitude several times over. By the time I received it as a gift, I know it had passed through the hands of three others as a gift. Since the making of the Essence I have been fortunate enough to be able to pass it on in gratitude again. I received the pearl at an important time in the development of the Oil of Lapis Light and it assisted me in a learning of gratitude. The Essence itself carries that gift of Gratitude overflowing into Generosity, then Loving Kindness

Gratitude that inspires Generosity has a luminosity similar to Pearl. It is a pathway where suffering can be transformed through to Loving Kindness. This is the pathway of this essence.

Light Pearl

The transformation of the difficulties of life to a luminous offering of Light.

In the life of the oyster it is exposed to sand as an irritant. Its response to this is the production of the Pearl. Each pearl is a gift which is luminous and beautiful, that is created by the oysters response to pain and irritation.

This Essence shows us a way that our own difficulties can assist us to offer a gift of luminosity, grace and light from our hearts. This essence communicates this pathway from the experience of distress and irritation through to its transformation through acceptance and gratitude to beauty and grace, for the well-being of all.

In the production of the pearl the "grain of sand" is hidden in layers. Often in our own psyche we hide our own distress in layers. One of the aspects of this essence is the revealing of our layers of sublimation gently, and in an aspect of soft luminous light so that the opportunity to allow ourselves to transform through our experience and develop the wisdom and grace life is offering us, can be accepted.

The chakras most affected are the 2nd and 3rd Chakras and the Crown. The balance between these chakras can allow an ease to be experienced in the Heart chakra that can ready the heart for healing or giving. The Etheric and Emotional bodies are the most affected.

Amber

Amber is a fossil of plant resin (pine tree) often also containing animals usually insects trapped in the resin flow. It is a question as to where to place this essence, as a mineral due to the fossilization, as a plant essence due to the resin, or as an animal essence due to the presence of ants caught in the flow of resin and then fossilised. I have decided to place it in the animal essences to acknowledge the most complex form of life. This essence is made with a piece of Amber with ants included.

The seeping of resin is a very active time in any forest. There is an active focus of insect life at the least. In Amber we have that moment fossilised, linking mineral, plant and insect. This essence communicates an acknowledgement of Life. In doing so it also draws attention to the electromagnetic or etheric energy, allowing one to be more aware. In communicating an acknowledgement of life the essence can also communicate a "spiritualizing of the intellect", as Gurudas has described. This process can give rise to a more neutral view of anything we are perceiving as causing agitation. Particularly mental agitation. This can be described by looking at the intense attraction the insects have for the resin, in its fluid state, where they are often caught struggling. Just as our minds are often caught in intense focus and agitation which is hard to release.

Through the new awareness of Life we often gain a more neutral view of those things which agitate our mind.

Snakeskin

This essence was made from the shed skin of a Brownsnake that was found in a field of Pink Flannel Flower on Hargraves Lookout in the Blue Mountains (spring 2004). The blue you can see in the photograph are pieces of Lapis that were used in the making of this essence. This is an essence made for the Oil of Lapis Light Mandala, and all the essences made for this mandala were made in the presence of Lapis Lazuli where possible. The skin was newly shed and without any breaks, it was complete including the skin from the eyes.

As an essence it brings an acceptance of change. It relieves states of distress during periods of change. Particularly where ones role or identity (self view) is changing or needs to change. A relaxation can occur where there has been a clinging to habitual view of reality.

This essence communicates an acceptance of self which goes beyond our perception of self.

We all have experiences of change where we hang on to old attachments, inhibiting real change. This essence assists by communicating an acknowledgement of our truth, allowing a gentle letting go of self perceptions that are inhibiting the full spectrum of possibility.

Red Coral

This essence is made with a piece of petrified Red Coral, received as a gift in support of the development of the Oil of Lapis Light. This piece of Red Coral is not the hollow red coral often found available but a piece petrified with a portion of the coral still within its exo-skeleton.

The skeleton of the coral is excreted to allow the vertical movement, growth, protection and support of the coral. This essence of petrified Red Coral communicates or inspires the building of the mental, emotional and physical structure needed in support of Spiritual or trans-personal Realization and development. Along this line this essence can also support the acceptance of support from what is usually perceived as external.

On a population level this process is seen when an individual attains high levels of realisation or enlightenment and begins to teach that path. Or the processes and teachings they give are taken up by others, in the support of spiritual realisation. These practices and understandings go on after the individual has passed on. This is reflected by the fact that after the coral dies its skeleton remains and is often the home for other creatures or sought after for its beauty by humanity.

Tawny Frogmouth

This essence was made after severe bushfire's had gone through our area, and there were concerns for the wildlife especially those at the top of food chains. A group of people all with different skills gathered to make an essence or mandala of essences to support one of the animals in difficulty. It was a new process for me and each of the people in the group. The Tawny Frogmouth was chosen during meditation and over the following 6 months a series of essences were made with a Tawny Frogmouth and of plants and environments that support the bird in its habitat. In the few days after our first meeting a tawny was brought in, confused and disorientated, for care at the aviary of one of the group members who is involved in native animal rescue.

This essence was made in co-operation with this bird who was named Fern as it was found in Fern St, and was later released.

This essence communicates an experience of "self" through a process of interconnectedness with others and our environment. It facilitates listening to ones environment as a process of interconnectedness. To delineate "self" through acknowledgement of Oneness with, rather than through perception of difference. This can begin the process of self acceptance, the surfacing of complete identity without shock or separation.

Very often we hold aspects of ourselves in the unconscious or suppressed from conscious view, as an act of survival. In these situations this essence can bring relief.

Silk

Silk is excreted by the "silkworm" as part of its preparation for the total transformation of the cocoon. Sometimes when we are entering a period of change it can feel as absolute as that of the silk worm entering the cocoon. This Essence can act to communicate the safety and insulation of the silk cocoon, for the support of deep transformation of identity.

Our perceptions and thoughts create a lattice of consciousness that holds and channels our awareness. This lattice of thoughts and perceptions can limit us in our thoughts and behaviour and our ability to engage with others. This Essence communicates to us the possible path of, generating thought and perception as gift or service for the well being of all beings, ourselves and others. This path of generating thought consciously can create  freedom, clear perception and compassion.

It is trust in the truth of being that insulates the transforming life and allows the offering of our very thoughts and perceptions as benefit to all.
